”Anyone can give up. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together, when everyone else would understand if you fell apart….that’s true strength.”
I really want you all to know, that you are A LOT stronger than you may realize, or give yourself credit for. Taking care of little ones, going to school, going to work, managing a social life—a social life that includes people who know your Soldier, and constantly ask how they are doing, keeping up the house, the bills, and holding it all together. Meanwhile, you worry about your Soldier, write them, and keep your phone on loud, just in case they might call, to make you the happiest person in the world. You have to explain to your kids that mommy or daddy is playing Army, and will see them when they can. I understand why you hold it together, and I understand your strength. This lifestyle isn’t made for everyone. It is made for those who truly love and support a Soldier. A Soldier who has to put duty first, which sometimes happens at the most inconvenient times, like when you have a little on the way, or trying to plan a wedding on an unknown schedule. Yeah, you are strong. YOU ARE EPIC. Your kids may not understand right now, your parents may not understand, the world may not understand. Heck, you yourself may question how you are ever going to make it through. But, you WILL. You will be so proud of yourself, as well as your Soldier, and that’s the best feeling in the world. To love a Soldier, someone so brave, who always puts others first to defend this wonderful country we live in. So, remember, when you are feeling down, you have people you can turn too. You have a whole Army family you can turn too, and we will never let you down, because we understand.
HOOAH!
